Deniz Guvensoy is an artist, curator and researcher, who lives in Vienna. She had her B.F.A and M.F.A. in 2005 and 2008 in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul. She has gained D.F.A. in 2015 in the same university with the thesis; ‘Identity Constructions in Contemporary Art from Turkey’. She has worked as an editor, art critic and academician in Turkey. Currently, she studies in Ph.D. in Philosophy program in the University of Applied Arts Vienna. In 2016, she curated the exhibition ‘Aporias’ which included twelve international artists in Friday Exit Gallery, an artist-run space supported by Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She co-curated Kunst Kebab: Exploring Food and Social Space with her colleague Deniz Beşer in Museum Quartier Underground Passage, Vienna in 2017. She is the chairwoman of cultural association Fabrikraum and also a member of AICA Istanbul.
